Building sand is used mainly in the making of "Motars" and renders by combining it with cement and water in varying strengths depending on application.
Plastering sand is a fine, washed sand. It can be used for masonry projects, and between flagstone or pavers. It does not work well for play areas or sand boxes, because if left exposed, it tends to get dusty & dry out.
River sand: When viewed close-up, the granules of river sand are distinctly rounded from rolling and cascading down riverbeds. Because of the rounded nature of the particles, lots of tiny gaps are formed, and that creates one of the desirable properties of this sand – good drainage. You will find both the coarse and fine varieties are washed and clean.
Visit our brick centre and choose from a selection of face and stock bricks, pavers, roof tiles and building blocks - any quantity available.
